My journey in health & wellbeing began in 2005, when I was 15; I had a traumatic horse riding accident resulting in severe whiplash and tearing the ligaments in my neck. I was incredibly lucky in the fact that I didn’t break anything or have any structural damage, however since the accident I have been in chronic pain with numerous trips in and out of hospital. Recently, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility and PoTs (Postural Tachycardia Syndrome)

About 4 weeks after the accident, I had a Reiki treatment from a dear friend called Julia; I wasn’t too sure what it entailed and hadn’t really heard of Reiki. I was absolutely blown away by the results and how it made me feel. During the session, my neck felt like it was on fire, the heat created was something I had never experienced before and something I have never experienced since. I knew from this moment that this was the beginning of my journey and I wanted to learn more about alternative health.

I had a keen interest in aromatherapy, especially with horses.  We bought a young horse who was very nervous and had several behavioural problems due to being mistreated previously. We noticed the benefits of offering essential oils to him and this is where I really wanted to further my knowledge, understanding & studies.

I initially trained in Sports Massage, and have since further trained in Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy, Pregnancy & Labour Massage, Reiki, Chakra Balancing and Functional Mobility. I spent 6 weeks in India training as an Ayurvedic Massage Therapist. Ayurveda really resonated with me in terms of how they treat the individual and look at diet, lifestyle, experiences and what may be a medicine to one person could be poison to another. I’m really interested in herbs, nutrition and treating the cause of a specific problem rather than the symptoms. I firmly believe that ailments, diseases and discomforts within the body are from an imbalance somewhere whether it be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual or a combination. The mind and body are one and therefore we can’t treat one without the other.

I began yoga & meditation to help ease pain and manage stress and anxiety which I’ve experienced high levels of in the past and I really found yoga helped me become more mindful, present and body aware. After practicing yoga for 5 years, I decided to take my journey of yoga one step further and went to Suyralila Retreat Centre in Spain and completed my Frog Lotus 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training.
