The B Vitamins, known collectively as Vitamin B-complex, are natural nutrients that are vital for healthy cell metabolism as well as many other functions in the body. At one time they were thought to be a single vitamin, until research showed that what had been designated as Vitamin B was in fact eight different substances, which were then labelled Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), Vitamin B7 (biotin), Vitamin B9 (folate or folic acid) and Vitamin B12 (cobalamins). Very occasionally individuals are allergic to one or more B vitamin. Also, supplement turns urine bright yellow and can trigger nausea, flushing, tingling and/or numbness in very high doses.
