Kundalini Yoga Class – Working with Prana, the Breath

What is Pranayama?

‘Prana’ is the energy (breath) that flows through the mind and the body. Yama is the control of the Breath.

The Prana is divided into different frequencies that are called ‘Vayus’. Their combined functions affect our metabolism, our emotions and thoughts, our balance & coordination and how we communicate to others.

In Kundalini Yoga, Pranayama is used to support the many postures and to move energy within the body, for specific effects.

The breath is a primary platform for the practice of Kundalini Yoga. Our one hour class will include:

  • A series of Pranayama techniques.
  • A Kriya that works with the Breath within the body.
  • A Meditation that uses the Breath and Mudra.
  • A Period of Deep Healing Relaxation.
